The use of process re-engineering in production and services industries has improved output but not long-term sales. The elimination of expert staff, or knowledge-based employees, and the broadening of the roles and decision-making of semi-skilled workers, can result in corporate financial improvement.

A little productivity rise goes a long way

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning raising productivity levels in accounting firms are discussed. Average productivity in the accounting profession is less than 50%, and so a small increase would greatly benefit a practice.
