'Totally un-Australian!': discursive and institutional interplay in the Melbourne Port Dispute of 1997-98
Article Abstract:
An analysis of inter-organizational domain processes is presented, using AustraliaEs 1997-1998 Melbourne Port dispute as an illustration. Processes were found to consist primarily of the mapping of texts by actors onto discourses, and the mapping of discourses onto interpretive conceptualizations which are predictive of specific courses of action.

The saliency of synecdoche: the part and the whole of employment relations

The author identifies and examines synecdoche as a trope in writing about and understanding employment relations. Synecdoche is a figure of speech in which the whole is used for the part, or the part is used for the whole.
