A television ad on a small Pacific island is one agency's bid for a 'first' in the new millennium

Euro RSCG Worldwide, the world's No. 8 agency in billings at $7.3 billion and No. 5 in revenue at $1 billion, will run a self-promotional campaign for the new millenium. The agency is planning a 90-second television commercial to broadcast to the Chatham Islands, off the coast of New Zealand, one of several sites that claims to be the first inhabited land mass to see the dawn of the Year 2000.

An offbeat campaign for Amtrak introduces a new rail service

DDB Worldwide Communications Corp. has formulated a advertising campaign for Amtrak's latest service called Acela. The surreal print ads emphasize the convenience passenger train service and appeal to a sophisticated audience, which Amtrak hopes can be persuaded into taking the train to work instead of driving.
