U.S. charges Microsoft seeks limits in trial
Article Abstract:
The US government's investigation of Microsoft Corp. regarding allegations of violations of antitrust law could be temporarily set back in pretrial disagreements between the two sides. In a motion filed in US district court, anti-trust regulators demanded access to the source code book for Microsoft's Windows 95 software product and complained that the company was attempting to limit pretrial testimony by its chairman, Bill Gates. The US government wants extensive testimony from Mr. Gates as well as 17 other executives, while Microsoft insists it needs more time to adequately prepare for the case.
