Unions must rethink loyalties

Article Abstract:

Michael OEConnor, senior assistant national secretary of the forestry division of the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union managed to convince union members to vote for the Howard government assuring that any decisions on forestry would not come at the expense of workers jobs, during the elections days. But the industrial relations legislation the Howard government is preparing would make life tougher of the unions especially in the private sector. The amendments of the Workplace Relations Amendment (Better Bargaining) Bill are discussed.
