Article Abstract:

The food wholesalers industry is divided into the foodservice distributor sector and the wholesale food sector, both of which have distinct characteristics and prospects. Distributors, who provide services to the food-away-from home area, have been growing and will continue to do so through acquisition, but the food wholesale segment has been in turmoil due to competition from others. Stocks in both segments lack interest to investors in 1999.
