A better quality of life
Article Abstract:
In 1997 Shanghai became the first Chinese city to meet the World Bank's definition of a middle-income economy by showing a per capital figure of $3,130. The quality of life has improved with public amenities which make life convenient for it citizens, however there is growing disparity in income. In 1987 the annual wage gap was 761 yuan and in 1995 the income gap was 9,900 yuan.
