A chance for the industry

Article Abstract:

Czech Republic: A total of CEK 12.577 bil from the state budget are reserved for science and research for 2001. The sum is about CEK 1 bil higher compared to 2000. CEK 3.047 bil of the 2000 sum went to the Academy of Sciences, CEK 1.072 bil to the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic, and the remaining part was divided among individual sectors. The highest sum, CEK 4.733 bil, is intended for the Ministry of Education in 2001 compared to CEK 3.936 bil in 2000. The Ministry of Industries and Trade (MIT) received a total of CEK 1.2 bil for research and development for 2001 compared to CEK 1.419 bil in 2000. The sum will enable MIT to cover started projects in 2001 but not to finance new projects.

Aliatel will increase its stock

Article Abstract:

Aliatel (Prague, Czech Republic), telecommunication firm, will increase its stock to CEK 2.71 bil in 2001 compared to the current CEK 1.31 bil. The firm's shareholders are seven Czech electric power distribution firms with a 60% stake and RWE Telliance (Germany). The share of the shareholders in the stock increase has not been decided yet. The sale of Aliatel to a strategical partner should be realized by the end of 2001.

We have to invest in the environment

Article Abstract:

Czech Republic: The country has to invest about CEK 250 bil in the environment within admission to the European Union. The investments will be divided into 10 years. This was said by the Minister of the Environment Milos Kunzvart at the conference Enviro 2001. About CEK 98 mil will be spent on civil sewage treatment plants. The rest falls to the debit of the business sphere.
