Article Abstract:
The New York, NY, school board created a furor when it proposed that the study of homosexuality be included in its multicultural curriculum. The resulting backlash from the right wing killed the curriculum and caused chancellor Joseph Fernandez to lose his job.

Business schools are seeing a surge of applications for their MBA programmes, despite estimates that over one in five MBA graduates from summer 2001 have not yet found work. MBAs are still seen as a way of reaching the top in business.
