A little potential
Article Abstract:
Japan's $225 million Micromachine Technology project, which is now halfway through, has produced some interesting results. However, the micromachines produced so far do not appear to represent the cutting edge of a significant new technology. Micromachines such as the Micro-Car attract a considerable amount of attention, but it will prove difficult to find applications in which they can be really profitable. It remains uncertain whether the Micromachine Technology project has really encouraged viable creative forces.
