Denmark will be voting again to decide whether to support the Maastricht Treaty on European union. Those who oppose the treaty are waging a strong campaign, but it looks likely that the Danes will approve it this time. Opposition is also strong in England and France.

The Maastricht European union treaty is threatened by Spain and Portugal's withdraw from the European exchange-rate mechanism. In addition, in upcoming elections in France, Spain and Italy may put politicians in power who do not support European Union.
