A tilt at Jewish theology

Article Abstract:

Yossi Beilin is a writer who argues that non-religious registration could be carried out by officials of the Jewish community and be recognised by Israel as bestowing Jewishness in the case of migration to that country. Beilin argues that such a measure is important for the Jewish people to survive. Assimilation and intermarriage threaten survival. He argues that many people live in Jewish families and wish to affiliate with Jewish people but prefer not to undergo a religious ceremony.
