Aalborg Industries, the Danish boiler producer, is planning to expand. By the year 2002, the aim is to increase turnover by one third through acquisitions. Recently, Aalborg Industries acquired a plant in China; and in Malaysia, the existing plant will be extended. Even during the Asian crisis, the company reports a successful development of Asian markets. In the first six months of 1998, group turnover increased by 26% to DKr 822mn (USD 117mn).

DENMARK: SELMER TO ENTER MARKET
Article Abstract:
Within the next three years, the Norwegian contruction company Selmer is planning to enter the Danish market through acquisitions. The aim is to reach synergies by being able to move capacity between the Nordic countries when market conditions are changed. The company is already established in Sweden, and the Swedish market accounts for 20% of turnover.
