AUSTRIA: BILLBYCLICK TO CHALLENGE P.S.K
Article Abstract:
By November 2000 Billbyclick AG is to launch an electronic billing and payment (EBP) service in Austria. The company will act as a so-called consolidator between the company making the invoice and the bank. Billbyclick has access to the billing system of the company making the invoice. After recording the invoice, Billbyclick sends an e-mail to the consumer, who can then view and pay the bill at Billbyclick's E-banking portal. For further details, the client is passed on to the homepage of the company making the invoice. This allows the company to intensify one-to-one marketing. The bills can be kept in an electronic archive. Billbyblick is in talks with all Austrian banks except for P.S.K., which is offering a similar service under the name Bezahlen.at for Sch 7 per invoice. Billbyclick's charges will be similar. Bezahlen.at expects to gain another 50 companies as cooperation partners by the end of year 2000 in addition to the ten existing ones. According to Billbyclick, 12% of bank account holders in Austria are registered as on-line banking clients.
