AUSTRIA: CASINOS AUSTRIA EXPANDING ABROAD
Article Abstract:
Casinos Austria (Casag) is expanding its foreign operations. In South Africa, the Austrian company is to open a second casino by the end of year 2000. The existing one is Johannesburg is to be relocated and extended at the beginning of year 2000. In Caracas, Venezuela, Casinos Austria International is to open a casino by the beginning of 2000. The company is planning to set up a casino also in Brazil. The casino in Ontario, Canada, is being expanded. The province of Ontario is spending Sch 250mn on expanding the building. Casinos Austria will be allowed to set up 450 gambling machines there. At the end of 1999 a hotel complex with restaurants is to be opened next to the casino in Jericho, Palestine, that became operative in 1998. Casinos Austria International Ltd (CAIL) and Accor of France have taken over a casino-hotel complex in Cairns, Australia.

Endogenous sequential entry in spatial model revisited
Article Abstract:
A critical examination of a study on advantages of location based on hotel industry that was presented by D.J. Neven is presented. The effect of location on profits is discussed. It is observed that the firm that carries the weight of entry deterrence stands to gain for a longer period.
