ING posts 47% rise in net on gain from ABN stake sale

Third-quarter net profit for Dutch financial services firm ING Groep N.V. rose 47% to 2.31 bil euro, boosted by investment income and a gain on the selling of its ABN AMRO Holding N.V. stake. Underlying profit fell 2% to 1.1 bil euro, while underlying profit for its insurance business rose 29% to 1.29 bil.
