After Spitzer probe, Marsh CEO tries corporate triage

Chief Executive Officer Michael G. Cherkasky, Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc. has restructured the company after the United States Securities and Exchange Commission investigation. The insurance company let go of one quarter of its clients that were losing money and reorganized. It is too soon to see results from this management strategy, net income for the first six months of this year is down 64 percent to $300 million.

Spitzer expects a civil settlement with AIG

Article Abstract:

American International Group Inc. is being investigated by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and a civil settlement is expected. Overall the insurance companies shares are down 26 percent but today the shares are up 4.6 percent or $2.35 to $53.30 on the New York Stock Exchange.
