Allianz in talks to buy Pimco

Article Abstract:

Pimco Advisors Holding LP is studying the possibility of selling part or all of itself to Allianz AG. Such a deal could have a value of $5 billion (4.89 billion euros). Pimco is a bond fund-management company based in the US. The company has been attempting to exploit the boom in mutual funds. Pimco is the third-largest publicly traded investment-management firm in the US. The company has been engaged in preliminary negotiations with Allianz.
