Allianz's profit nearly triples despite hurricane exposure

Allianz Aktiengesellschaft Holding of Germany posted soaring fourth quarter net profit of 872 million Euros ($1.05 billion) from 296 million Euros the year before. Revenue growth was experienced in asset management, banking and investment income as operating costs were streamlined.

Munich Re swung to 1st period loss
