Army fails to find indications of Iraq plans to wreck facilities

Article Abstract:

According to a study by the U.S. Army, there is no evidence to show that Saddam Hussein planned to destroy Iraq's oil facilities, dams, and bridges on a large scale. The report has diminished the success that US forces have claimed in stopping the mass destruction of Iraq's infrastructure.

New Iraq oil minister brings politics to post

Article Abstract:

Ibrahim Bahr al-Uloum, the new Iraqi oil minister, said that he advocates the privatization of his country's oil industry. However, the political nature of al-Uloum's appointment presents problems in handicapping potential investment opportunities in Iraq.
