Audio in Europe's major markets

Article Abstract:

The international business for audio products in major markets involving France, Italy, the UK, Germany and Spain were evaluated using 1990-1994 data, and their future prospects were reviewed using 1994-1999 data. The UK was the sole market that posted real growth of 16% in 1994, and Spain was the only other important market that posted volume growth in 1994. Italy and Germany posted volume and value decreases in 1994, with their market values more substantially affected as average unit prices steadily declined.

Footwear in Spain

Article Abstract:

The Spanish market for footwear from 1989-1993 recorded a 14% decline in retail sales value amounting to 276 billion pesetas. The decline can be attributed to high operating costs and declining importance in terms of total consumer expenditure. A short review of footwear manufacturers is presented. The future of the Spanish footwear sector will be heavily influenced by the success of company restructuring programs and export marketing.
