Austria: Cholesterol-reducing gene discovered

Article Abstract:

Scientists in Austria have discovered a gene which breaks down cholesterol. The gene, found on chromosome 13, consists of thousands of individual genes, and it is expected to be a long time before the scientists are able to use the discovery to develop anti-cholesterol medicines.
