The market for letters of more than 350 grams is estimated to be worth Sch 170mn. In the market for newspaper and magazine delivery that is worth about Sch 3bn, Osterreichische Post accounts for about Sch 1.9bn. According to Kurt Schuberl, one of the heads of Redmail, says that the company is open to cooperation with logistics companies and other media groups. Austria: Organisation of VKI under question

Article Abstract:

The Austrian association for consumer information, Verein fur Konsumenteninformation (VKI) is to be offered an extra 20% of funding from the chamber of employment (Arbeiterkammer), which will theoretically force the government to increase its VKI funds too, as the government and chamber of employment have to fund the organisation equally. However, consumer protection minister, Dieter Bohmdorfer is resisting the move and prefers plans under which representatives of youth and pensioners are also members of the VKI, although it is not yet decided whether they would have to pay. The chamber of employment would rather these groups made up a committee to advise the VKI.
