British Airways posts higher net, helped by strong business traffic

British Airways PLC of the United Kingdom posted a soaring fourth quarter net profit of 80 million Pounds ($151.3 million) up from 1 million Pounds last year. Revenues were due to increased customer traffic and higher ticket prices that offset spiraling fuel costs.

Two U.K. airlines report traffic gains

British Airways PLC of the United Kingdom announced increased passenger traffic by 1.8 percent overall and premium services rose by 15 percent in March. Ryanair Holdings PLC of Ireland reported a 17 percent rise in seat sales in March to 3 million tickets sold.
