Article Abstract:

Barco Graphics, which contributed to more than one fifth of Barco's consolidated turnover in 1997, has reinforced its position in the US. The Belgian manufacturer of electronic equipment for the graphical industry has taken a number of assets of Contex Prepress from the US group, Xyvision. Contex Prepress is active in pre-press software and technology as applied to packaging. The operation allows Barco Graphics to reinforce its packaging operations while improving its position in graphic arts for packaging world-wide, especially in North America.

Contrat am ricain pour Corys Tess

Article Abstract:

In Belgium, the Bombardier Inc group has chosen the Corys Tess company, a subsidiary of the Tractebel group, to build a high speed train simulator. This simulator, to be operational in 1999, will restore the dynamics of the train as will as its audio and visual environment through 3D image synthesis. This simulator is for the train which will link Boston and Washington in the United States. Bombardier, in partnership with GEC-Alsthom, is to build this train.

Electrabel : premier contrat l' tranger

Article Abstract:

Electrabel, the Belgian company, has won a contract in the Netherlands to supply electricity to the Dutch company Air Products at Terneuzen. This is the first contract which Electrabel has obtained in the Netherlands as part of the liberalisation of the European electricity market. Electrabel intends to win new market shares in Europe. It is mainly targeting the Benelux countries, Germany, and France.
