The architecture of Central Europe borrows styles from other parts of Europe. Polish architecture reflects both Italian styles and Polish themes from the Middle Ages. The book 'The Great Country Houses of Central Europe: Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Poland' offers an illustrated architectural history.

Melting away: central-bank gold
Article Abstract:
Central banks no longer need their gold holdings to back currency, so the fact that, combined, they still hold 35,500 tonnes is disturbing. Potential effects of central bank gold reserves are discussed.
