Basel on the Rhine

Article Abstract:

The Port of Basel is Switzerland's second largest city and lies in the heart of Europe. Tourists seeking intellectual stimulation and cultural exposure will not be disappointed since Basel has its share of art galleries and museums as well as market squares and outdoor cafes. Basel has retained most of its original architecture and ambience since it has been undisturbed by the wars throughout the centuries since the Celts and the Romans. The place also celebrates a national festival similar to the Mardi Gras called the Fasnacht which heralds the arrival of spring.
