Sprint's net rose 13% in 4th quarter, yet misses target

Sprint Corp. posted an increase of 13% in its net income for the fourth-quarter of 1998. However, this figure was lower than what Wall Street analysts had expected. Sprint suffered losses from its Global One multinational joint venture. Normally, Sprint posts a strong performance in its long-distance and local telephone segments. These represent the company's core businesses.
