Bizuterie Ceska Mincovna
Article Abstract:
Bizuterie Ceska mincovna (BCM) (Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic), coin manufacturer, is preparing for the coinage of Euro coins, among others. The firm closely co-operates with mints in Germany and Austria. BCM was set up in 1993, after the declaration of a tender for the supplier of Czech currency. The tender was declared by the Czech National Bank (CNB) after the division of the former Czechoslovakia. CNB has 1,600 t of coins in circulation. About 1,200 t of the quantity comes from BCM. CNB will order 140-150 mil coins of all nominal values per year from BCM after the exhaustion of its reserves, which are large at the moment.

KOB should purchase Ceska Financni
Article Abstract:
Konsolidacni banka (KOB) (Prague, Czech Republic), state bank, should purchase Ceska financni (CF) (Prague, Czech Republic) by the end of 1999. CF, which is a subsidiary of Ceska narodni banka (Prague, Czech Republic), controls hardly recoverable receivables worth 40 bil Kc. In 1999 KOB bought unprofitable bank credits worth more than 50 bil Kc. Problem credits worth about 100 bil Kc were transferred to KOB from Investincni a Postovni banka (Prague, Czech Republic), Komercni banka (Prague, Czech Republic) and Ceska sporitelna (Prague, Czech Republic) in 1994-1999. KOB expects a loss of about 40 bil Kc in 1999.

Ceska Financni presents a petition for Ustecke Pivovary
Article Abstract:
Ustecke pivovary (UP) (Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic), brewing company, has to face a danger of bankruptcy proceedings in Sep 2000. The bankruptcy has been proposed by Ceska financni (CF) (Czech Republic), towards which UP has a debt of CEK 285 mil. UP does not agree with the procedure of CF. UP is negotiating alternative redemption of the credit with CF. UP saw a loss CEK 33.8 mil under proceeds of CEK 263 mil in 1999.
