Botched business
Article Abstract:
Internet World Wide Web-based sites have become a necessary element in corporate marketing campaigns and communication efforts. Creating value in such Web sites relates to business objectives and the manner by which sites support these objectives. There are six, nearly universal ways by which companies can drive away visitors from their sites. These include making it difficult for site visitors to contact the company, using meaningless universal resource locators and placing an emphasis on design rather than content.

The multibillion-dollar environment of electronic commerce is compelling firms to explore new markets to grow their business and compete more efficiently against international rivals. The Internet age has caused markets to 'shrink' as a truly global economy emerges. Canadian companies, which appear to be complacent in the electronic business world, must exploit foreign markets to achieve greater success. A number of suggested tips may help startup companies grow their online business outside Canada.
