Business as the new rock and roll

Article Abstract:

Disney head, Michael Eisner, fits into a trend of chief executives who attract a great deal of publicity. This type of chief executive can help companies in trouble, but celebrity bosses can also become involved in corporate feuds. Their celebrity status can help boost their bargaining power in employment, which can help boost executive pay trends, though celebrity status can also result from high pay. They may also blame world economic problems when their companies do not perform well, and take the credit when there is a bull market.
