CAC Leasing with a net profit of 42 mil Kc
Article Abstract:
CAC Leasing (CACL) (Prague, Czech Republic), leasing company, saw a net profit of 42.4 mil Kc in 1998 compared to more than 90 mil Kc in 1997. The firm ensured investments worth 10.4 bil Kc for its clients in 1998, 15.7% more than it had expected. The company arranged 20,822 new contracts in 1998 and controlled nearly 58,000 active contracts at the end of 1998. The subsidiary CAC Leasing Slovakia (Slovakia) realised transactions worth 3.3 bil Sk and became one of the prominent leasing firms on the Slovak market in 1998. Allrisk CAC (Prague, Czech Republic), which is a 51:49 joint venture of CACL with the brokerage insurance firm Allrisk (Prague, Czech Republic), was commissioned in December 1998. The joint venture is focused mainly on mediation and complex consultancy in the field of the insurance sector.

Wienerberger saw a slight profit for the first time

Wienerberger (Czech Republic), building goods producer, expects a turnover of 1.6 bil Kc in 1998. The firm saw a turnover of 1.3 bil Kc in 1997 compared to 860 mil Kc in 1996. The company, which makes products under the name Porotherm, has a 25% share on the brick goods market and a 20% share on the building goods market in the Czech Republic. The firm plans to build the most modern plant in Europe in Repov, the Czech Republic. The plant will produce prefabricated ceiling parts and lintels. The investment costs on the plant should be 140 mil Kc.
