CCS buys Cesky Triangl

CCS (Prague, Czech Republic), cash card company, wants to extend its activities in the field of consumer credits from 1Q 2001. The step will be realized due to the purchase of a 98% stake in Cesky Triangl (CT) (Czech Republic), which is involved in catalogue instalment sales with a zero mark-up. CCS's turnover amounted to CEK 18 bil in 2000, 18% more compared to 1999. CCS enlarged its network by 25% to 4,000 commercial branches in 2000 compared to 1999. About 37,000 clients utilized CCS's cards in 2000. CT, which was set up in 2000, has about 100,000 clients and a network of 5,500 commercial branches in 1Q 2001. CCS wants to utilize the effect of the connection of client networks and the launching of new products by the transaction.

Ceske Lodenice will supply ships to Norway

Ceske lodenice (CL) (Prague, Czech Republic), ship manufacturer, was awarded a contract by Umoe Karmsund (UK) (Norway) in Mar 2001. The contract regards the supply of eight ships worth CEK 56 mil. UK had ordered 10 ships at CL before the arrangement of the contract. CP could be awarded a contract on a total of 60 ships by UK.
