Caisses d'Epargne closes deal on CFF

The Finance Ministry of France has selected Caisses d'Espargne to acquire a 90.6% share of Credit Foncier de France (CFF), a state-owned mortgage lender. Caisses will be acquiring CFF for 4.9 billion French francs (747 million euros). The CFF acquisition concludes the restructuring of the French public banking industry just a few weeks after the privatization of Credit Lyonnais SA.
