Care and feeding of the U.S. Consumer

Article Abstract:

American consumers had been loyal to imported Chinese goods because of their low prices, which also had been instrumental to Chinese export growth. However, product safety issues of Chinese products have decreased the consumer confidence in these goods, and in turn, demand new consumer protection laws. The effects of the safety problems on The U.S. and Chinese government and consumers are investigated.
