Caught Knapping
Article Abstract:
The British cable industry has undergone consolidation, and NTL has emerged as a major player. The company is a new entrant in the British market and was not backed by a large American company, as were some competitors such as Nynex, This has meant that NTL has had greater freedom to act. CWC was thought likely to dominate the British industry but it may have been hampered by not having independence. Channel suppliers face a smaller number of purchasers for programs as the industry consolidates.
