Chancellor buys 50% of Grupo Radio

Article Abstract:

Chancellor Media Corp. of Irving, TX, will own 50% of Grupo Radio Centro SA of Mexico City, Mexico, for about $237 million in cash and stock. The acquisition of half of Grupo Radio by Chancellor Media, which intends to become a multimedia firm combining radio, TV and outdoor-billboard properties, is its first venture in the Latin American market. Grupo Radio, which reported revenues of $82 million in 1997, is the owner of six FM and six AM radio stations and is Mexico's biggest radio broadcasting firm.

Internet transforms child porn into lucrative criminal trade

Article Abstract:

An ongoing child pornography investigation in the United States has revealed a connection to Regpay Co. in the former Soviet Union country of Belarus. Yahor Zalatarou, Aliaksandr Baika and Alexei Buchnev are currently in jail for their roles. Mr. Zalatarou said there are "levels of hierarchy above him" but denied any connection to the mafia.
