Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. posted a $61 million loss for the first quarter of 1999. Coca-Cola is the largest bottler of soft drinks in the world. The 1999 first quarter has been an unusually slow one for the company. Analysts's predictions were a penny short of what they had predicted. During the period, Coca-Cola posted a 10% rise in revenues to $3.27 billion. During the same period in 1998, the company posted $2.96 billion.

Coca-Cola Co. posted a 13% decline in its net income for the first quarter of 1999. The company was hurt by weak sales in almost all of its main markets. Coca-Cola's net income fell to $747 million for the period. This comes out to 30 cents per share. The net income results were one cent higher than what analysts had predicted. A foreign exchange gain helped Coca-Cola's figures.
