Consequences of dropping nonessential objectives for the application of MCDM methods

Article Abstract:

A study has been conducted to examine the problem of nonessential objectives for multiobjective optimization problems with linear objective functions. The problem of finding parameters for a multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem wa reduced through analysis so that the original solution is preserved. Findings have indicated that the naive application of an MCDM method usually leads to different results during the analysis of the MCDM problem instead of the original problem that contain nonessential objectives.

Cognitive support methods for multi-criteria expert decision making

Article Abstract:

A study has been conducted to investigate considerations to decision problems of an intrinsically repetitive nature, such as regular planning and scheduling problems, or online production control problems. The approach used in this study works towards a communicative clarification, where the two involved systems, the artificial formal decision systems and the human expert decision maker work on a common understanding of the problem and search for satisfactory problem-solving strategies.
