Consumer confidence grows

Article Abstract:

A survey conducted by credit card company MasterCard International revealed the optimistic outlook of Asian consumers. According to the report, the consumers of Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore were the most optimistic among the 400 middle-class people surveyed by MasterCard. Other Asians that were positive in their outlook include the Chinese, Koreans and Thais. The report has been received as good news by the retail industry and advertising agencies which have been hit hard by the 1997 financial crisis.
