Creating mid-cap value

Article Abstract:

A MORI survey of 100 mid-cap senior managers found that most of the managers do not think they are able to influence the market, in part because of the consolidation of institutions on a global scale. The Quoted Companies Alliance (QCA) wants a government minister for mid-cap companies, one who would promote more understanding of the problems mid-cap companies face today. The mid-cap minister initiative and the survey are discussed.

A resilient market

Article Abstract:

The U.S. market, as in the United Kingdom, is cautiously optimistic that things will become better, with private firms in the vanguard in the mid-markets. In the wake of 9/11/01, however, there has been a slowdown in the US invesmtent in Europe, including the UK.

A recessinary situaiton might prove to be very profitable for venture capitalists as the pricing paralysis disintegrartes. However, exit routes will probably become increasingly challenging.
