Credit Lyonnais Securities Asia Ltd. publishes yearly its Feng Shui Index, a humorous compilation of economic and financial forecasts. The brokerage company forecasts 1997 as a bullish year, with indexes and profits rising, which could be dampened by unforeseen circumstances. Despite being intended to be playful, the index was able to predict trends somewhat accurately for 1992 and 1993, included swings in the Hang Seng Index.
