Currency markets ignore G-7 messages: lack of unified approach makes coordinated action appear highly unlikely
Article Abstract:
The dollar and the yuan have fallen against the euro despite the message sent by the Group of 7 to allow Asian currencies to rise against the euro and the dollar. Although China persists in tying its currency to the dollar, support within the G-7 regarding monetary policy is uneven.
