Cybergrocers get ready for Loblaws

Several online grocery retail companies in Canada are launching their own first major advertising campaigns, in anticipation of Loblaws' upcoming test of its online delivery service in Oakville, Ontario. GroceryGateway's new print campaign in January 2000, which featured ads that appeared in the Toronto Star, was responsible for bolstering its registered clientele from 8,000 to 10,000, according to its marketing VP John Mozas. Another retailer, PeachTree Network, is running banner ads on websites such as Sympatico.
