DENMARK: NO TRUE COMPETITION ON TELECOM MARKET

Article Abstract:

Monique Moulle-Zetterstrom, CEO of Danish phone company Mobilix, claims there is no true competition on the Danish telecom market. Private phone companies can at most function as retailers for public phone company Tele Danmark. The main problem, according to Moulle-Zetterstrom, is that Tele Danmark controls national network and negotiations with Tele Danmark regarding access are conducted through TI, the phone companies' trade organization. TI should be used to discuss issues that companies have in common, says Moulle-Zetterstrom, but network access is not one of them.
