DENMARK: APM MAY LOSE OIL LICENSE IN THE NORTH SEA

Article Abstract:

The Danish government may not automatically renew A.P.Moller's (APM) oil exploration license in the North Sea when the licenses come up for renewal. APM is participating with Dansk Undergrunds Consortium (DUC) in this. According to the Danish minister of taxation, Jens Helbo Hansen, the government is prepared to grant the license to other players if they are prepared to pay for than DUC.

DEMARK: RAISED TAXES ON PETROL ARE PROPOSED

Article Abstract:

The Danish Ministry of taxes is reviewing if the taxes on hydrocarbon for petrol companies should be raised. The companies have to pay hydrocarbon taxes when the prices on petrol are high. Taxes on hydrocarbon were introduced in 1982 and have only been topical during a short period when the prices on petrol were about US$35.

Denmark: State to become part-owner in DUC

Article Abstract:

The Danish state is to join A.P.Moller, Texaco and Shell by becoming part-owner in DUC, Dansk Undergrunds Consortium as from 2012. So says Environment and Energy Minister Svend Auken following Tax Minister Frode Sorensen's proposal yesterday regarding a new system of taxation for the North Sea oil.
