DENMARK: FDB TO GIVE UP GROWTH STRATEGY

From now on, the major Danish retail group FDB will focus more on profitability than on growth, the paper concludes after the dismissal of MD Steen Gede. CEO Jorgen Clausen has been appointed deputy MD, and his main concern in the past year has been to improve profitability through increasing volumes and prices through a 20% reduction in the number of products.

DENMARK: E-PURCHASES WOULD CUT COSTS

Article Abstract:

Electronic purchases would cut costs for Danish municipalities by DKr 625mn (USD 85mn) annually, according to the newsletter Danske Kommuner (Danish Municipalities). The administrative cost of handling a conventional invoice is estimated at DKr 25, and as the total number of bills to municipalities are 25mn, total cost is DKr 625mn.
