Denmark: A new payment card for cultural activities

Article Abstract:

Ebillet, the Danish software company, is to launch a new payment card in co-operation with a major supplier of cultural services, that does not want its name published at this stage. The card will be launched in March 2003. The card targets cultural consumers who can use the card to pay for small sums and use it in cinemas, kiosks or fast-food outlets. The card will be tested under a pilot project, worth DKr2.5mn (US$301,000) in a limited geographical area.

DENMARK: CODAN TO FULFIL NEW SHARE ISSUE

Article Abstract:

By the beginning of October, the Danish insurance company Codan will have fulfilled a new share issue totalling DKr 1.3bn (USD 0.2bn). The principal owner Royal & Sun Alliance will acquire 72% of shares, and even other existing shareholders will make purchases. This means the ownership of Codan is not likely to be changed. The share issue is a consequence of Codan's acquisition of the Swedish insurance company Trygg-Hansa.

Denmark: Alm Branch MD to resign

Article Abstract:

Bent Knie-Andersen, managing director of the Danish insurance company Alm Brand is to resign on his own accord as from the beginning of next year. The sudden resignation comes in the wake of major losses for the company. He will be succeeded by Henrik Nordam, the present deputy MD.
