Denmark: Grundfos aims to grow

Article Abstract:

Grundfos, the Danish pump producer, remains optimistic about the company's growth prospects. According to ceo Niels Due Jensen, Grundfos aims to boost sales as well as capture new market share in 2002. 70% of Grundfos's global turnover is generated by the so-called replacement market i.e. the replacement of worn-out pumps. According to Niels Due Jensen, there are new markets for Grundfos including China, India, Russia and South America, that are not permeated with the pessimism that prevails in the Western World. Jensen is hoping to open a factory in Russia in within the next few years at the same time as the company is looking at prospects in the other new markets. Grundfos's total investments in 2002 are expected to fall short of the 2001 investments of DKr1bn (US$120mn).
