Denmark: Reduced profit margin for Superfos

Article Abstract:

The Danish packaging company Superfos reports a 5.3% profit margin for the period January-September 2001, down from 6.1% for the same period in 2000. CEO Kim Andersen says the decline is attributed to problems in the UK and the US. He says the company has become stronger in the field of consumer packaging, and benefits from a growing market for moulded plastic packaging, especially in southern Europe. Superfos is planning for acquisitions of packaging companies in Europe, but this process has not been accelerated owing to company's weakened results.
